Disclosure

This contents of this blog are intended to satisfy the course requirements for a graduate level Educational Technology course offered through Boise State University.  The list of disclosure statements found below are meant to serve two purposes.  First, the statements below are an attempt to abide by FTC Guidelines.  Second, I want readers to feel confident that all posts made on this blog are my honest thoughts and feelings based on my own research and/or life experiences.

It is important to note that the thoughts or opinions expressed on this blog are mine and mine alone.  I do not represent in an offical capacity, nor do I speak for my employer or Boise State University.

Take some time to read the statements regarding my background.  If you feel an essential question is missing from the list below please feel free to contact me.  I consider myself an "open book" and will attempt to answer any question that does not compromise the safety of myself or my family.

Are you making a profit from this blog?

No.  Well, at least not yet!  My employer does provide a pay increase of anywhere between $4,000-$6,000 a year (depends on your position on our pay scale) for teachers who complete a masters degree.  I am partially reimbursed for one online class per year provided I earn an "A" or "B" as a final grade.  I am not being reimbursed by my employer for this particular course.

How do you make a living?

I am a Social Studies teacher for a the Upper Darby School District in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.  I want to re-emphasize that my posts are mine alone and do not in any way reflect the views of Upper Darby School District.

Is this your first blog?

No.  I created my first blog as a "portfolio" during the introductory course in Boise State University's M.E.T. program.  I created another "portfolio" type blog using Weebly for a previous course as well.

Why do you have three different blogs?

I'm curious!  In my journey through this program I am trying to expose myself to as many platforms, resources, etc. as I possibly can!  I figure if I "experiment" with different resources I will increase my knowledge base of possible tools for my students to use.

Do you have any business ties?

I am not paid by any person/organization to write for this blog.  In full disclosure, I have worked for the following companies/organizations at different points in my life and each experience taught me valuable life lessons.
Do you have any ties to anyone in the media?

No.  At least none that I am aware of.

Do you own stock?

I do not own stock in any single company.  I do contribute to two retirement plans beyond my PSERS retirement account that use mutual funds.  Although I monitor my retirement plans frequently I could not name a specific company that is part of any fund off the top of my head.  In any case, my retirement accounts do not impact my thoughts on this blog.

What is your religious background?

I was baptized Catholic and my wife and I were married in a Catholic church, however I have attended a Lutheran church almost my entire life.  Although I do not attend church on a regular basis I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is my lord and savior.  I try to live and treat others as Jesus would, however I am far from perfect and ask forgiveness for my mistakes.  I attended public school, public university, and teach in a public school.  I've had friends, classmates, students and colleagues of various relgious backgrounds.  I can honestly say that having different religious views has never created a problem in my personal or professional life.

What is your political affiliation?

I originally registered as an Independent voter when I was 18.  Due to Pennsylvania's "closed" primary system I re-registered as a Republican while I was in college and I am still a registered Republican today.
